... and gameattorney report to command. Yes I decided to finally change the blog to what it's supposed to be about. The gaming industry, my gaming experiences, and various reviews of technology and PC/Xbox games.
A few days ago SteelValor sent me a link to the blog of Tom Buscaglia located at www.gameattorney.com/blog/. It seems this man has taken issue with Jack Thompson, who has self-proclaimed himself as the champion of the fight against violence, sex and language in video games. Using questionable methods he has made claims that the military is intentionally desensitizing gamers to killing with such games as America's Army, and Full Spectrum Warrior. He also argues that most of the games out there are "murder or sexual simulators" encouraging young gamers to kill and become sexual aggressive.
I won't get into my personal views today. My goal is to promote Mr. Buscaglia in his efforts to call out Mr. Thompson and to get the community and society as a whole to actually step up and shout this man down.
Mr. Buscaglia has sent an invitation to Mr. Thompson urging him to debate and publicy discuss their differing opinions of the gaming industry. At the last moment Mr. Thompson cancelled and sent an insulting letter, not that Mr. Buscaglia was overly civil in his correspondence either. I would hope that Mr. Thompson will start listening to the community he attacks and society as a whole. I won't say that Mr. Buscaglia speaks for the entire gaming community but from people I have talked with he has the pulse of the community and I wish him the best of luck in putting this trail of misinformation put forth by Mr. Thompson to rest.
Once the gaming industry can discredit this man's views maybe that will help discredit his hateful views about Islam, Media, and just about anything else he believes he is the authority on, most notably society's ills.
